Why wood?
Timber as a pathway to a circular economy
The benefits of wood
A wooden interior contributes to the transition toward a sustainable circular economy.
The key elements of timber construction act as a powerful flywheel, accelerating the shift to a more responsible and regenerative future.
Sustainability is not a hype or a trend, it’s the new standard.
And we’re proud to set the bar high. With a collection made primarily
from solid wood components, we help create truly sustainable work environments, spaces where people feel good, surrounded by natural materials.
Wood is the most sustainable building material available.
All the more surprising, then, that it’s still not the most commonly used.
We aim to change that, because wood is a renewable resource.
The ultimate expression of sustainability.

Healthiness

A healthy workspace starts with nature. Outside, we seek it out to relax.
So why not bring that same calm into our working environments?
Working in spaces that incorporate natural elements has been shown
to improve well-being, enhance health and productivity, and reduce absenteeism.
This concept is known as Biophilia — the innate human connection
to living systems.
Biophilic design applies this idea by integrating nature into the built environment. Studies show it makes us happier, healthier, and more balanced.
Wood plays a powerful role in this approach. In interiors where wood
is visibly present.
Contribute to CO₂ storage
We contribute to CO₂ storage by building with sustainably sourced European (French) wood.
Our wood comes from certified forests, managed according to the principle: harvest no more than what grows back. This ensures forests retain their ecological, economic and social value.
By using this wood in long-lasting applications, we not only make better use of the harvested material, but also increase the overall wood supply.
Wood consists of 50% carbon, so choosing wooden furniture means removing CO₂ from the atmosphere and storing it for the long term.

We plant trees
....and many trees become new forests.
Spell has planted many trees in recent years, something we are very proud of! We do this because we value sustainable, environmentally conscious, and eco-friendly practices. For this reason, we also participate in the Carboom™ project. This foundation focuses on offsetting CO2 emissions through Dutch reforestation.
